Want to stabilize a slope. Our oak leaf hydrangeas has many sprouts to separate out. Also how deep to plant? Thank you.

If you are digging up the rooted suckers, just plant them as deep as they were in the ground. You should be able to see what growth was above ground when you dig them up. Here is more on their care:
