Ripe Tomatoes

On the top of my ripe fruit are partial rings that look like scars. There are about 5 rings that are not connected going around the top area of the fruit.

This is called cracking. In mild cases, like yours, the skin cracks as the tomatoes grows and heals over. It is safe to eat. In more severe cases, the tomato will split open. This article will help:
