Q.Ridding Flower Bed Of Invasive Mint Plant
We live near Kansas City, MO & moved to a different house a few years ago and at first loved the mint plant in the flower bed. However, I have tried to limit where it grows by pulling it out of the ground & by layering weed stopping layers of materials on top of the soil. Each following spring my daughter will ask why it was back? It takes lots of work but it continues to grow back & spread. I have sprayed weed killers trying to avoid my beautiful miniature lilac bush and rose bush. So far some of the mint dies (not the lilac or rose bushes), but it continues to come back. Any ideas would be very much appreciated. Thank you. Kathy Pietarila

Pieces of the root must be lingering and so it returns. Have you tried glyphosate? That will kill the roots. Be sure to hold cardboard up to protect your desirable shrubs if you spray. Here is more:
