Rhododendrons

Hi! One of my rhododendron is root bound in a medium sized pot. It has grown very fast over the past 2 years. I don’t want to buy a larger pot as the one it’s in was meant to be it home for some years to come at least. I mean the pot it is in was not cheap. It has finished flowering and been dead headed. It was looking ok until tonight when I checked it the leaves are drooping and curling slightly. So I believe this is due to the tight position of the roots. Can I lift it out and trim the roots now or do I have to wait until it is dormant bearing in mind the drooping leaves.? I have watered it as it felt dry also.

Unfortunately you will need to increase the container of your potted Rhododendron to ensure it’s continued health.
