Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comMy rhododendrons look healthy but the blooms do not mature and look like they have been chewed on. There are no obvious signs of insects, the leaf color is good, and the drainage is normal. We are close to the ocean in Bodega Bay, California.

Since you say no obvious signs of insects, my theory is that your rhododendrons are being attacked by squirrels. Squirrels love rhododendron buds.
