We live in Central Florida and would like to plant this bush. How well will it thrive in this area?

Rhododendrons do not do well in Florida. However, there are related shrubs called azaleas which can do well. There are some azaleas that are native to Florida. Ask at a local gardening store or find a local gardening club that will be able to help you find these shrubs.
