Q.Replanting Strawberries And Raspberries

Anonymous added on November 8, 2022 | Answered

My strawberries and raspberries have produced virtually no fruit for 2 or 3 years and I have dug them out. I will have to replant in the same plots since they are in a fruit cage. There has been no sign of virus, but is there anything I should do to the soil before planting the new canes and plants?

Yes, solarize the soil if you have the time.

Alternately, dig out a lot of the soil and replace it with new garden soil and compost.
