Q.Replacing a moss pole

Zone London | tomortiz added on June 22, 2017 | Answered

Hi there,

We got a cheese plant about a year ago and it’s grown a lot in the last couple of months. The growth has caused the plant to out grow the moss pole that it came with when we bought it. So I’ve bought a new, taller moss pole.

I was wondering if you might have any advice on switching the original moss pole out for the new one?

Some of the aerial roots have grown through the current pole. I was planning on using a knife to carefully cut around them so I can the pole out. Will the aerial roots grow into the new pole?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Tom

When it comes time to repotting and changing a moss pole, this is a good time to prune. Move the leaves as carefully as possible, but trim the plant inorder to make the change if necessary.
