Regarding sunburned Sago Palms

Thanks for the answer regarding the pruning of my sunburned Sago Palms but you said to move them to protect them from the hot sun. Unfortunately that is not possible because one is on the patio in a very heavy cement pot and the rest are planted in the ground. I’ll have to figure out something else.i guess it’s ok to fertilize them now since you didn’t say not to. Thanks again.

I’m sorry, I did leave that out. For the plants that you cannot move, you will want to put up a shade cloth. This will come in many “shades” but you won’t need anything more than 30 percent shade cloth.

I would wait to feed them until next spring. Feeding now can burn them, since they have lost plant material and cannot take up nutrients as fast until it is replaced.
