Regarding Fig Tree

For the second time, one of the unripe figs on our tree has become swollen and light in color. The first time, it finally fell off. What could cause this? This is its first crop. We live in Vanc. WA, and it’s healthy and happy otherwise. In a large container. It’s been HOT, so I water daily.

It sounds like this is a young tree, so that could be part of the problem, because young trees don’t do things exactly right.
There are several other conditions to think about: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/figs/fig-drop.htm [1]
To make sure it’s not a disease you should be treating, you can take a fruit sample, with some leaf and branch samples, to the nearest county extension service for analysis.
