Q.redbud tree in container

Zone Harrisonburg, VA | stephen.swofford added on May 10, 2017 | Answered

I recently received a redbud clipping, and when I saw it budding I felt the need to plant, but I have no yard, so I put it in a pot. I’m just wondering what I need to do to keep it alive. I gave it some generic kinda MiracleGrow potting mix, but I don’t know anything about changing soil (if that’s even a thing) or adding fertilizer, or how often/how much to water it. I’m about as bad at growing plants as is possible, so any and all help is good.

Thanks!

Stephen
