Q.

Red water draining from fern

Zone I live in Union County New Jersey | Pstreet added on September 26, 2015 | Answered

I purchased a fern and noticed in the saucer that the water was red. At first I thought it was from the saucer but that is not the case. Can you tell me what is causing this?

It may be a residue from potting soil or fertilizer that was used in the greenhouse.
