Q.Red Maple Tiny Roots??? HELP

Tiny moss like, matted roots extend 40-50 ft. away from tree, killing azaleas, Roses etc. Do we have to move plants, How far? TYIA

Unfortunately, your photo did not come through. I am unable to identify the issue in question.

Usually, that far out is plenty far enough. There is likely another culprit causing the loss of your plants. There may be a need to solarize the area to kill off any weeds and plants that may be causing the matted roots. Once the soil has been solarized, you can plant and will likely have better success.
