Q.Red Leaves on Roses

thergert added on May 16, 2011 | Answered

Some of my roses are putting out their new spring growth with predominantly red leaves. The leaves look healthy, but instead of being green, they are a deep violet in coloration. I’m wondering if there is a nutrient deficiency.

This is normal! The new growth will fade to green as the branch matures. Meanwhile, enjoy the nice variation.
