Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI thought gardenia only came in white but over the past few years I have noticed red flower buds growing and blooming along with my gardenia tree, double petal 4-5 across petal to petal. The tree is about 5 feet tall and 3 1/2 wide. Can anyone tell me if I should be worried? Could this be a sudden mutation or is it a rare occurrence?

I have not found any information on a red flower on a Gardenia.
The Gardenia will produce a seed that is red/orange in color after blooming.
Here is a link that has images of this.
