Q.Red Baron daisy

Zone 5174 South Australia | Anonymous added on November 26, 2018 | Answered

My Red Baron daisy plant is huge and has been flowering well up to now, I have been dead heading it every week but it’s now looking a bit dry. Photo is attached below. We have been watering it but not overly so. It has been in the ground for over 12 months. We have pest oiled it today but is there anything else we can do to improve it’s condition? Our soil is terrible, clay and sand but the plant has seemed healthy up to now. We are just about to hit Summer in South Australia but the weather hasn’t been overly hot so far, a few days of 34 degrees but it thrived through the heat last summer season. I would be grateful for any help. Thank you.

Clay soil can be tough to work in. It is possible that it is not receiving correct fertilization because of the compact nature of the clay soil. You may have to supplement with a fertilizer.
