Q.Read Your Article On Winter/dormant Pruning Sour Cherry Tree. Am Confused By Directions That Read “prune As Late In Winter As Pos
sible” but “once the risk of winter frost has passed”. If I prune as late in the winter as possible, there will still surely be a frost in March (early spring here in Virginia) so I am not clear on when I can winter prune. The tree is around 9 years old and has way too many vertical growing branches. It seems to be a healthy tree but I don’t get many cherries, probably because of the density of branches. Thanks so much for your advice.
