Q.Re Gladiolus Not Blooming

So, mention “northern gardeners” needing to dig corms to protect from freezing. Please be a little more specific. Does that mean Washington state, Alaska, Minnesota, what? Northern gardeners is pretty broad.

That is a broad statement. It is best to go by growing zones. Gladiolas are hardy in zones 8 to 11. In zones 6 and 7, they can survive if a heavy winter mulch is applied. Gardeners north of zone 6 will need to lift and store the corms in the fall.

You are in zone 8 so you shouldn't have to lift your gladiolas in the fall.
