Q.Raspberry Bush

Anonymous added on June 21, 2011 | Answered

Raspberry bush in second summer. Bush growing nice and looks perfectly healthy. All the buds in clusters of six to ten are all brown and have not filled into berries. They have been this way for at least 3 weeks. Live in St. Louis.

This could be due to an issue with Raspberry Bud Moth. The larvae of the moth attack unopened buds, where they tunnel inside and cause extensive damage to the plants. As a result, the plants may not put out any fruit. Remove affected buds and any damaged canes or branches. Treat with appropriate insecticide.
