Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comWhen can I cut my red and yellow raspberry bush down to the ground? I live the Pacific Northwest just north of Seattle. The canes are all leaning over and look dry. I have been told to wait till March, but I do not understand way. I would like to cut them down now and mulch the soil around the stubs that will remain. Thank you.

Pruning at this time can cause them to come out of dormancy, which makes them vulnerable to the winter cold. It is best to wait until spring when they are starting to come out of dormancy to prune.
