Pumpkins

We planted a pumpkin this year. We want to cook it. The pumpkin is bright orange on the outside and the stem is light greenish/brown. It looked ripe so we pick it and cut it. The inside is a light orange or mostly white; it is so light. My question is, it’s not ripe is it? And we already cut it. If we put it in a bag, will it ripen so we can use it or do we just need to throw it away? All info is helpful Thank you.

You can’t ripen a pumpkin that has already cut open.
The insides of pumpkins will vary in color depending on the varieties of pumpkins you are growing.

Pumpkins can continue ripening off the vine.
