OUr pumpkins are starting to turn orange already. It is because everything is early this year due to the very warm and dry weather that we have had so far this summer?

Most llikely. This year has been an unusual one, to say the least, for garden plants. Many of my plants came up too early due to the warmer temps and thus became stunted and had poor flowering this summer. The vegetable garden hasn't fared much better, not as productive and stunted growth as well. But there is little you can do when it comes to Mother Nature. Such is the life of a gardener...
