Q.Pruning Yukie Cherry Blossom Deutzia
I live in zone 8-9 and planted new shrubs this year. They were flowering upon arrival and now they look dead. I just learned that they should be pruned immediately after blooming. Am I too late to do this? Should I wait until Fall?

The reason you prune right after flowering is because deutzia flowers on old wood. That means it forms new flower buds for next year soon after it finishes the current year bloom.
You can look on the ends of the branches and see if there are buds forming. If the buds are there it is too late to prune this year. Here is more on their care:
