Pruning With a Shovel Method

I have a wisteria vine which has never bloomed. It is quite old (10 yrs. ). I want to use the shovel method. When do I do this? It is June 24th now.

When root pruning, you can do this at any time. So now would be fine. Make sure to water well for a few days after you do this.
