Pruning sago palm

Should I trim the flower off of my female sago palm? It is the first time it has flowered and I am not sure if I should remove it or not. It is beginning to darken, brown.

For a female Sago, we recommend leaving the flower intact. The flower grows very close to the plant and you risk damaging the plant by removing it and it will not hurt the plant to leave it. You may see slowed growth while it is flowering. This is normal and growth will resume once the flower fades.
