Pruning Rubber Tree Plant

I read the article on pruning. My plant is approx. 4 foot tall now. A few branches are growing out and down due to weight. Definitely needs repotting. The article said those can be removed. Would it damage my plant to cut those out?They are kind of leggy, most growth is on ends. I have always heard that pruning that much at once could do damage. So, can I cut to where it bends?

Yes, you can. You don’t really want to take out more than 1/3 of the plant per season, so this would be one way to reduce how much you take off.
