Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comPlanted 3 red birds last year and 1 died. Replanted the 1 this year, but all the growth is off and only 2 main branches. It is now 5 feet tall, but looks spindly compared to my older plants because of fewer main branches. How can I promote more main branches? Logic tells me one of two ways: cut back late winter and new branches will sprout next year or cut back the two branches right now to spur addl growth. Help. . . . I don’t want to make the wrong decision and delay this plant further. Thanks.
