Pruning peace lily suckers

I just bought a new peace lily from Home Depot. It has huuuge, beautiful leaves and many small suckers at the bases of the big leaves.
I am wondering if it’s safe to cut off the suckers to clean up the overall appearance, and whether cutting the suckers off at their bases will encourage new growth of the huge leaves?

Peace lilies don’t respond especially well to pruning. If plant has yellowing leaves or spent flower stalks, it’s okay to remove those, but other than that it will do best if you jut let it grow on its own. You can read more about peace lily pruning here:
