Q.Pruning overgrown Mary Nell Holly trees
We have Mary Nell Holly trees in several places around our home. They all are overgrown and are growing past and up under the eaves. How should be best get them back in control?

You can cut them back to 1/3, but I would not take any more than this to avoid harming the shrub. Some species do prefer to grow a bit taller, but can be pruned to be kept in shorter stature.
