Q.Pruning my crape myrtle

Zone 11788 | Anonymous added on August 4, 2020 | Answered

I am not looking to reshape or alter its appearance. However, there are dead branches in there. Can I cut them out now, in early August while the tree is almost in full bloom?
Thanks

It should be safe to cut dead branches out of the tree at any time, as they are not contributing to the health or beauty of the tree. However, refrain from doing any major pruning, that should wait for late winter.
