Q.Pruning my Butterfly Bush

Zone Coatesville Pa. | Godly Love added on November 19, 2015 | Answered

I have a beautiful butterfly bush in my front yard and it’s getting so big that I cut it back in November. I didn’t cut it all the way down to the ground but just enough to see over it. I hope it will stay in bloom and not die. Please help.

You didn't do anything wrong, so rest assured, your butterfly bush is fine. Most people prune it back to within a foot or two of the ground and pruning can pruning can take place about any time of year.
