Q.pruning lilac hedge

Zone lloydminster, AB | artboser added on April 12, 2016 | Answered

I have a lilac hedge which is 4-5 ft high and I would like to cut it down to roughly 3 ft. Will I damage the hedge? The hedge is about to start leafing out now. Was going to do this now if I could. Thanks for your help in advance.

You should wait to prune your Lilac shrub until it is done blooming this season.
