Q.Pruning Hydrangeas

Anonymous added on December 26, 2014 | Answered

How do you prune broad leaf hydrangeas in the winter? They are in a pot and I brought them into my garage from the outside before frost. Do I cut them back? They are still slightly green.

Make sure not to prune any new stems that grew this past year, as these are for blooming next year. If you are not sure which these are, it may be best to wait until spring to prune stems and only remove the leaves for the winter clean up.
