Q.pruning honeysuckle
How and when to prune honeysuckle. We live in midwest (Wichita, KS) and have NEVER (sadly) trimmed it back.

Here is an article on pruning honeysuckle. Since yours has become overgrown you will need to prune it severely, to about a foot from the ground. You don't say what kind it is but just a warning, if it's Japanese honeysuckle, it can be very invasive. If that's what you have you might consider removing it and planting something else.
