Q.Pruning Height of Blueberry Bushes

Anonymous added on November 24, 2010 | Answered

I have 600 blueberry bushes that range from 6 to 15 feet tall. I am getting ready to cut them all back to about 5 feet. Will that harm them in any way and is it ok to do that at this time of year?

Severe pruning will not kill the plant and normally results in bigger but fewer berries. The best time to prune is when the plants are dormant, which is late fall through very early spring.
