Pruning forsythia

I have a young forsythia I purchased about 4 weeks ago. I planted the 2 bushes yesterday. They are about 3 weeks past blooming. Can I, should I prune? If yes, how much? I got them after a home show in mid April. It was forced so it bloomed early for this climate.

I read that article but I wasn’t sure if it was too late. This one was forced and bloomed about a month ago. I guess I’ll give it a try but gently.
