Pruning Flowering Bushes

When do you cut back your yellow bell, sweet Betsy, gardenia, and camellia bushes?

Pruning of yellow bells may be necessary each spring to maintain both size and appearance. Cut off any leggy, old, or weak growth. Sweet Betsy does not necessarily require pruning; however, if you choose to prune it, do so immediately after flowering to shape. You can also prune some older limbs back to the ground to encourage new shoots.
