Pruning Evergreen Holly Bush

I have a holly bush which badly needs pruning. I have read that it should be done in December, but was covered with snow then. Can I trim it now, or should I wait until late fall?

You can prune now, but if you do, you will likely not get berries this year. It doesn’t hurt the plant, but as most people like to get the berries, they avoid pruning at this time.
