Q.pruning established yard sago palms

Zone 50 miles NE of Austin, TX. | Anonymous added on August 23, 2016 | Answered

An overly zealous member of our AA club severely pruned our sago palms outside the building all over their diameter. We are in central Texas, and in middle of August. Besides looking ragged and removing these plant’s shading abilities, what problems do we need to watch for?

This could be a tough event for your Sago Palms, as you know.
Watching for any signs of pests or fungus will be important.
You may want to treat with Neem Oil, as it act as both an insecticide and fungicide.
Good luck and I hope your Sago's can recover.
