Pruning dead fronds on Dietes iris

I have a Dietes iris growing in soil, here is S. Texas. The last two years we have gotten a good frost for several days that has caused frond death. I went out to try and pull the fronds off but they do not detach. Should they be cut off? Now that spring is here I note that some fronds in the center of the plant are green… should I cut back to there? Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks

I would only cut back anything that is fully dead. Only leaves… Do not cut the main stem. Just remove any dead leaves, and leave the rest of the plant to grow.
