Pruning Crepe Myrtle

Anonymous added on March 20, 2014 | Answered

My Natchez crepe myrtle is beginning to leaf out. Should I prune now or not? I prune usually in late winter but spring took me by surprise this year.

You can do it now, but you need to do so very soon to avoid losing blossoms this season. Here is more information on pruning these trees: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/trees/crepe-myrtle/best-crepe-myrtle-pruning-time-when-to-prune-crepe-myrtle.htm
