Q.Pruning Camellias

Anonymous added on August 31, 2015 | Answered

Purchased property with tall camellia bush that has not been pruned for years. Branches approx 3 metres long with only leaf and flowers at the tip of branch. I would like to know how far can I prune this shrub without damaging or killing it. Many thanks.

You can normally cut them back by a third without harming them. This article should help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/camellia/pruning-camellias-how-to-prune-a-camellia-plant.htm
