Pruning Buds

Please, I need some advice concerning my gardenia bush. It bloomed during the spring/summer season, and now is covered again with buds! Normally I prune it back in the fall, but don’t know whether to do it this year or not. The buds are still small and green, though I have had one small blossom. Surely these buds will not last through the winter and bloom next year? Also, if I cut these buds off now, will the bush ‘re-bud’ for next year?

Do not cut off the buds. If you prune now, you will not get blooms next year. The new buds may or may not survive the winter to bloom next year but they have a chance where if you prune year, you will definitely not get flowers next year.
