Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comHello—
I have a very ancient split-leafed philodendron (at least 48 years old!). I would like to repot it, but the aerial roots encompass the tall stool on which the plant is based. For years I have wrapped those roots around the stool before they hit the floor. Now there is no way to do any repotting unless I trim back—or trim off—the aerial roots. If I do that, will the plant be harmed? Is there a preferred way to trim or remove the roots? (see photos)
Thank you!

You can cut off what is needed to tidy up your plant and remove it from the chair.
