Pruning Autumn Blazing Pear Tree

What time of year do I prune my autumn blaze pear tree? I would like to cut a few of the lower branches to make it easier to mow. I love this tree and want to keep it beautiful! Thanks for your help!

The best time to prune these is during dormancy, but now would be a good time before it gets too hot to prune.
