Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comThank you for the pruning advice on a newer pear tree. My issue is my older pear tree. I live in Michigan, and we recently purchased a home with a pear tree in the middle of the backyard. It yielded enough fruit to can. The tree is estimated to be about 35 to 40 years old and probably not pruned in at least 10 years. How aggressive can we be in pruning without harming the tree and where do we start and when?

Here is a link that I often refer gardeners too, it explains how to care for and maintain mature fruit trees!
