Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI would like to really trim back my pussy willow, which is huge and gorgeous but has not been pruned in a while. I’m still deciding which type of pruning I will do based on your article. But my question is this…my catkins have been off of the plant for probably a couple of weeks now. Is it still ok to prune at this point, or do I have to wait until next year? Thank you so much for your help!

I trim my catkin willow every spring once the catkins are gone. I cut it all the way to the trunk and it does still produce more shoots. It also depends on the age and size of your tree how far you want to prune it.
