pruning a kiwi plant

I have a well established kiwi plant of about 5 years old. Today I cut off a part of the plant that looks like a fork (with an arm and about 4 fingers coming off it). The problem is that it is bleeding and it won’t stop. How do I stop it bleeding and will it affect the plant?

The vines will bleed profusely in the spring if they are cut – vines should really be pruned in the dead of winter when they are dormant. Do not worry about the bleeding, it will be fine and should stop soon.
