I have three bird of paradise growing in a large clump. right now they’re approximately 20 ft in height and I want to cut them back as leaves are starting to shred due to the winds we have in this area. I live in Southern California. can I do the pruning at any time of the year because the climate here and how much can I cut back without endangering the plants. I don’t want to lose them
