propagating weeping mulberry without grafting

How do I propagate a weeping mulberry without resorting to grafting on to a white mulberry tree?  I do not understand why I just can’t take a cutting & root it as I would a fig or peach.

I really detest grafted trees. The root stock just will not stop sending up suckers. This is true of my persimmon, weeping mulberry & jujub. I have killed off the jujub because the roots from the root stock are as invasive as Locust tree roots. thx,

You can grow these directly from cutting. They are just very slow to root and very slow to grow. Other than that, there is no reason why you wouldn't be able to grow one from cutting. They use rootstock commercially for faster production and often shorter stature.
